Nelson Bieundurry

Cultural Guidance Worker, Change Em Ways

Mens Outreach Service Aboriginal Corporation (MOSAC)

Nelson Bieundurry has worked for the Change Em Ways program as the Cultural Guidance Worker for just over two years. His role requires him to interact daily with men who use violence in their relationships, and, like many of the clients, he too grew up surrounded by violence. This shared experience gives him a better understanding of the clients he works with.

Nelson prides himself on having a work ethic based on respect, accountability, equality, cultural appropriateness, and a fair go. He enjoys making a difference in the lives of men and their families and takes pride in watching some of the program's “success stories” thrive within the community. A highlight of 2024 for Nelson was being honoured with the NAIDOC Leadership Award for the Broome region.
